By accessing or using ResumeOpen ("the Service"), operated by OpenHertz, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

ResumeOpen is an online career toolkit that provides resume building, PDF export, and related career tools. The Service includes both free and premium features. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

3. User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account.
  • One person may not maintain more than one free account.

4. User Content

You retain full ownership of all content you create using the Service, including resumes, cover letters, and any other documents. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content you create. You agree not to use the Service to create content that is:

  • Fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive
  • Infringing on third-party intellectual property rights
  • Unlawful, harmful, or objectionable

5. Free and Paid Services

ResumeOpen offers a free tier that includes core resume building features. Premium features are offered under a paid subscription plan ("Premium Plan"). Details of pricing, features, and billing terms are clearly presented before any purchase.

  • Free features may be modified but will not be removed without reasonable notice.
  • Paid subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.

6. Payments and Billing

All payments for the Service are processed by Paddle.com (Paddle Payments Ltd), who acts as our Merchant of Record. This means Paddle is responsible for handling payment processing, tax collection, and invoicing.

By subscribing to a paid plan, you also agree to Paddle's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

  • Billing cycle: Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly), depending on the plan you choose.
  • Auto-renewal: Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date.
  • Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time from your billing page within the app. After cancellation, you retain Premium access until the end of the current billing period.
  • Price changes: If we change our subscription pricing, you will be notified in advance before the new price takes effect on your next billing cycle.

7. Free Trial

New users may receive a free trial of Premium features. Trial details:

  • No credit card is required to start the free trial.
  • When the trial expires, your account automatically reverts to the free plan.
  • The free trial is available one time only per account.

8. Refund Policy

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service
  • Abuse the PDF export or sharing features for spam or unsolicited distribution

10. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, templates, graphics, and branding, is owned by OpenHertz and operated under the ResumeOpen brand. It is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service.

Resume templates provided by the Service are licensed for your personal and professional use in creating resumes. This license does not extend to redistributing or reselling the templates themselves.

11. Shared Resume Links

When you generate a shareable link for your resume, it becomes publicly accessible to anyone with the link. You are responsible for managing who has access to your shared links. You can disable sharing at any time from your account settings.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ResumeOpen shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data, revenue, or employment opportunities
  • Interruption of service or downtime
  • Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in AI-generated content
  • Unauthorized access to your account due to your failure to secure credentials

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in activity that harms the Service or other users. Upon termination:

  • Your access to the Service will be revoked
  • Your data may be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy
  • Any outstanding fees remain payable

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal proceedings.
